Posted on Jul 10 2011. I leave my buns home alone for 10 hours every weekday. If Im going to be gone for more than 24 hours I have a friend stop by once a day to feed them fresh greens and freshen water bowl.
But my buns have free reign of the apartment and Ive quite thoroughly bunny proofed the place. Rabbits are very sociable so will need to be in the living room with you or the room where you spend the most time especially if its a single rabbit. I used to leave mine when I was at work and she would get really glum at being left alone all day.
Leaving the rabbit at home and having a relative friend or professional sitter come over 2-3 times a day is another acceptable solution. As a teenager I often watched our neighbors cats you may have a responsible kid in your neighborhood as well whod be happy about the job.
